Metropolis - German poster (1927, long track / door poster)Availability: 10 in stock
Metropolis is a visionary silent film classic by Fritz Lang from 1927, which tells the story of a futuristic city in which the ruling elite and the oppressed labour force exist in a radically separate world. It centres on the conflict between progress and humanity and the search for a „mediator between head and hand“.
With its gigantic expressionist buildings, the groundbreaking special effects by Eugen Schüfftan and the gripping music by Gottfried Huppertz, the film is considered a milestone in the art of film. The German longform poster reflects the monumental dimension of the work and is today one of the most important contemporary documents of international film poster design.
